The Humhum Radio frontend
CURRENT STATUS: Offline.
MY ROLE: Developer / Designer / Maintainer
HumHum radio was built as an online station for the closed HumHum forum for anyone of the members of HumHum to be able to play and listen. Although the playlist wasn't closed to anyone, it wasn't advertised.
To ease the scheduling I built an online scheduling system allowing users that wanted to participate to put in a time slot in the backend. The main homepage showed the schedule and also a playlist of what was being played aswell as an indication of how many are listening.
The application executable was running on a RedHat Linux box administrated by myself. I had locked down the security with Tripwire and other scripts prior to being released on the Internet. Shoutcast was used as the streaming software mainly for its cross platform architecture of plugins for sending streams. The scheduling software ran on Apache 1.3 and PHP4, with a MySQL4 backend.
