MY ROLE: Technology Manager

I was involved from the outset in the creation and maintenance of digitalvision.com internet and extranet web services. Working as the Technology Manager for Digital Vision Ltd I was responsible for this multilingual web site which sold images, music and motion in multiple currencies and partner supporting extranet with xml service, managing 3 teams totaling up to 25 people.

This site was created as the online portfolio from Ian Cuming, a motion graphics artist as an evolving showcase for his work.

A small that I created for Norwegian theatre group which of course has to be in Norwegian. Based around the WordPress engine it gives an easy to use content management system.

My role in Everymetric extend when the need came for a sales and marketing site for the EveryMetric data event software I am involved in. We choose to make it look as much like a simple HTML site as possible so that it can maximise its Search Engine ranking potential.

Of course I didn't neglect the need for strong CSS usage and XHTML compliance.

MY ROLE: Site Owner

My blog site as it stands has currently been in operation for over 18 months with older sites on different URLs going back even further than this. I use it primarily as a scratch pad for myself, noting sites, article and news that I would find interesting and also work that I have done as a reminder to myself.

I built the blog using my own PHP and at first it started out as a very rough PHP 4 beast but as it expanded I have upgraded it with a MobLog, image archive and other features. It should be due to come back online mid August 2005.

MY ROLE: Developer

I have been involved from the outset in creating these event monitoring tools, that go beyond the normal statistics gathering presented by competing packages. Having used traditional log software and also ASP services for monitoring web site behaviour we had excellent knowledge of where these packages didn't deliver. The EveryMetric set of tools was our answer to this.

From the beginning we decided to use a strong suite of high availability open source tools to build our product set on, and this has been the basis ever since.
